For three days, bikers can enjoy meeting other enthusiasts, checking out the best bikes in the world, and partying through the night and generally living it up… biker style!
The Faro International Motorcycle Rally is pretty much the epitome of biker culture, and is the highlight of the biking calendar in Europe. Apart from the bikes themselves, biking fans can spend hours checking out loads of biker paraphenalia, as well as tattoo stands and contests, twenty four hour bars, live nightly music concerts, wet t-shirt contests and nightly erotic shows. Plenty of visitors to this famous event pitch up a tent at the nearby campsite which has permanent toilets and showers (phew!), whilst other, more discerning tattooed biker types head for hotels in Faro city, which is just seven kilometres from the rally site.
The Vale das Almas location is startlingly close to the airport, so a very swift transfer journey is guaranteed. As it is such a busy time to visit Faro, you’d be well-advised to pre-book your taxi or shuttle in advance, especially if you are staying in a Faro hotel as opposed to the campsite. If you are worried about forking out for local taxis to and from Faro each day, don’t! The rally puts on a special free bus service to transport people to and from the centre of Faro, so your transport once you’ve arrived is well and truly catered for. That’s a relief!
When you book your ticket for the Faro International Motorcycle Rally, you will receive a badge, t-shirt, sticker, and coupons for free meals as well as a secret surprise gift! Ooh! However, you had better get booking soon… this awesome bikefest is just over two weeks away!
Of course, you needn’t spend your entire trip to Faro at the rally. If you feel like a bit of a break from the revving of bike engines and buzz of the tattoo needle, you’ve come to the perfect location. The rally’s location is just a kilometre from Faro’s gorgeous beaches, and the city of Faro itself has a huge amount to offer. From great restaurants, bars and cafes to a stellar nightlife of its own. Faro is a university city, which always spells a double thumbs-up when it comes to clubs. Don’t expect these to be all biker fare, although some of them may be catering for the biker crowd with the advent of the rally. Whether you plan to mix with the students and travellers out living it up in Faro town, chill on one of the city’s stunning white beaches or eat your weight in delicious Portugese cuisine, biker or not, you’re guaranteed a raring time when you visit Faro at any time of year!
